Okay I admit I have a thing for scents. I love scents and many different scents. It’s fun to be able to use scents that you
just don’t find in stores like walmart or target. But it’s even better using an artisan
product in a quality you don’t find there either!
But let’s get back to the different scents that I
ordered. Now don’t get me wrong I don’t plan on adding
all these scents into my store. But I bought them for a particular
reason. Some were ordered at the request
of customers some were chosen because I thought they would be nice, some for
men, some for the ladies and some for kids or just want something fun and
different. But it’s also just plain fun
to try different things! I also want to
get into selling more bath soaps locally so I want a variety of bath soaps to
offer people of all ages! I do consider myself color challenged so I
also bought several new colorants to try out as well as a new vertical soap
mold. I also have a soap making forum
that teaches others so I will be doing reviews of the scents and colorants for
my members there as well.
These new scents will be made into bath soaps. But I also have a plan! I want to look at the different scents that
I currently offer and remove some of the less popular scents as well as the
scents that aren’t that strong. Then in
turn I want to add in some new scents that I think will be enjoyed by many and
that are strong scents in soaps. Not all
scents have that slap in the face effect as I call it. Some are just more subtle by nature and I
respect that, but I have found that many of my customers want the stronger
scents.
So I purchased a bunch of different scents in small 1 oz
bottles to test out. I’m tired of
buying larger bottles only to find out that they aren’t popular with the
customers or that I don’t like them. So
they sit and collect dust and don’t get used. So it just makes sense to buy the smaller bottles
to test before buying a bigger bottle.
These scents will be tested out in small batches of bath
soaps as well as pucks of shaving soap.
The soaps will be listed in my store under my Scented Cold Process Bath Soaps
or as Specialty Cold Process Soaps. Specialty
Cold Process soaps are other soaps that I make. They could be gardeners/mechanics soaps that
are very exfoliating and cleansing in the recipe used or they could be spa/salt
bars. Spa/salt bars are a unique recipe
used that I mostly coconut oil with a high superfat so they aren’t drying to
the skin. But they also contain a high
percent of sea salt and kosher salt combination to exfoliate the skin. These types of soaps have a different lather
that is more lotion like and are really nice to use! The
soaps that didn’t turn out how I wanted them to turn out will be listed for
sale in my clearance section. Any remaining scents may be used in other
products such as lotions or creams and also sold. I will be adding a RTS (ready to ship)
section just for those items in the area with my lotions and creams.
The scents that are tested out in shaving soaps will be
made into pucks and listed either in my RTS (ready to ship) section or my
clearance section depending on how I feel the scent turns out. I do want to have a larger selection of
shaving soaps to offer that are pre-made and are ready to be mailed out.
Anything that is already pre-made and ready to ship
rather than made to order now has RTS in the title of the product. So you can do a search for all RTS items by
using the advance search feature on my website.
Now onto a list of the scents that I have ordered, and be
prepared it’s a LONG list!
1) Strawberry Rhubarb Pie
Southern baking comes alive! The aroma of sweet fresh
strawberries mixed with sour rhubarb marmalade, with a base note of flaky pie
crust. Very unique!
2) Mr. Pepper MD.
This smells similar to Dr. Pepper soda that is loved by
many of all ages. A blend of spicy orange and cherry notes with hints of
toasted almond, clove and cinnamon create a totally unique fragrance.
3) Honey
Our honey aroma is sweet, yet slightly bitter. A
fantastic natural aroma
4) Honey Bunny
Opening with sparkling notes of bergamot, sweet orange,
and crisp apple; followed by rich, golden honey nectar, toffee bits, and soft
white musk mingling together to create a sweet treat as natural as sunshine.
5) Hawaiian Ginger
You will love this refreshing tropical array containing
top notes of tangy pineapple, freshly-sliced summer melons, and crisp apple
slices. Middle notes include iris, rose,
jasmine, and cyclamen. Base notes of
vanilla and musk make this fragrance a perfect blend.
6) French Vanilla Oak
The sensual scent of creamy vanilla and warm amber mingle
with oak moss and sandalwood, anchored by patchouli and musk.
7) Fresh Brewed Coffee - World’s Greatest
The aroma of strong black fresh brewed Arabica coffee
beans.
8) Coconut Craze
We're crazy for summertime, and that is just what this
fragrance embraces! Coconut craze
fragrance begins with top notes of lemon, orange, pineapple, and lime; rounded-out
with middle notes of caramel and coconut, with base notes of buttercream,
coconut milk, vanilla bean, and musk. Surfs up!
9) Wild Musk
This smells similar to Coty's Wild Musk, a sensual musk that
is blended together with exotic jasmine, ylang ylang warmed by sandalwood and
amber.
10) Margarita
This is a fresh lime fragrance with hints of lemon rinds
and fresh greenery. This fragrance oil has high levels of essential oil of lime
for a true-to-name aroma.
11) Frozen Margarita
This begins with top notes of essential oil of Lime and
Mandarin Orange; including notes of Southern Valencia, Lemon, and Sea Salt;
followed by middle notes of frothy iced Guava Nectar, Strawberries, and
Pineapple; all sitting on base notes of Brown Sugar, Vanilla Rum, and Musk.
12) Burberry British
A fresh, modern blend of classic cologne citruses
highlight warm, inviting buds, amber, sandalwood and white musk.
13) Sea Salt & Lotus
Sea Salt & Lotus Blossoms fragrance: The scent of
fresh air, sea salt, ocean mist and aquatic florals come together to create a
sexy, modern twist on this fresh & clean fragrance, complete with tender
green notes and a beachy musk.
14) You Sexy Thing You
This is an exotic, floral fantasy temptation. A blend
orchid, jasmine and freesia with sensual skin musk and sultry sandalwood create

15) Alien
This is a magical fragrance that will make you feel like

21) Sheer Seduction
Absolutely seductive! It’s a sensual floral accord of
African violets and lily of the valley, complimented by slight hints of kiwi,
lime, and grapefruit.
22) Tobacco
When most people think of the smell of tobacco, they
think of cigarette smoke or cigar tobacco.
However, a real tobacco plant smells like neither of these. Our true tobacco plant fragrance is described
as a fresh, citrus top with juniper berries and woodsy notes of vetiver. This wonderful scent begins with top notes of
lemon, orange, and verbena;. Followed by middle notes of juniper berry and hay;
all sitting on base notes of labdanum, vetiver, and tobacco.
23) Satsuma
The Japanese Satsuma is a unique, aromatic citrus
fruit. Our perfumist truly captured this
uniqueness in our Satsuma fragrance. It’s
a wonderful blend of orange, mandarin, mango, peach, lime, jasmine, and orange
flowers. Energizing and
intoxicating! We love it!
24) Yuzu
Yuzu is most likely the most popular scent on the
market. Also referred to as Japanese
Grapefruit, Yuzu is not your ordinary grapefruit scent. Yuzu begins with top notes of mandarin,
tangerine, lemon satsuma, and ruby red grapefruit, middle notes of bergamot,
and base notes of oakmoss.
25) Lily of the Valley
This is a very fresh and green muguet de bois; true to
name lily of the valley aroma.
26) Creamy Coconut
For those that love the aroma of creamy coconut milk then
this is one you don’t want to miss. It’s
not the typical tropical coconut that some look for but the scent of the
coconut milk itself.
27) Hawaiian Suntan
Wisk yourself away to the beach with this fragrance that
is reminiscent of Hawaiian Tropics suntan lotion! This is a fruity paradise containing notes of
creamy coconut, passion fruit, guava, pineapple, banana, melon, and grapefruit.

makes me think of relaxing on the beach with an umbrella drink? Hmmmmmmmm. Either way, this scent is summery, warm and
comforting.
53) Emmett
This is a very masculine scent of bay, rum, lime,
mahogany, amber, vanilla and bergamot.
54) Jacob
Jacob is a blend of evergreen woods, moss, patchouli and
sensual musk. It is a deep, yet fresh scent and entirely masculine.
55) Tassi Lavender
I did buy a pound of this scent because it comes recommended from many soapers that I know. Tassi Lavender is a fragrance oil rendition of the
Tasmanian Lavender Essential Oil. A clean lavender scent with a very floral
profile. While there are undertones of herbs and wood, the primary notes are
sweet, soft florals. Fine lavender can be somewhat ozone-like in a clean sense,
certainly not medicinal or camphoric. You may know these types of scents as
flower garden duplications. A
beautiful lavender scent.
56) Woodland Ice
Woodland Ice is a refreshing, outdoors kind of scent.
Think evergreen and ozone, moss and musk, wildflower and herb. This masculine
scent is easily crossed over for a unisex scent. I suspect that most women will
want their man to wear this because it is sexy, clean and masculine.
57) Coconut
Coconut is a scent that will take you immediately to the
tropics.
58) Huckleberry Fragrance
I bought 8 oz of this scent because it's so awesome! This is a powerful berry blend that will always be
reminiscent of Grandma's homemade preserves. * Caution: Be careful using this one in bear
country.
